RAJUL SHAH
Rajul Shah (b. 1968, Mumbai, India) is a contemporary artist based between the United States and Singapore, whose practice centers on acrylic painting across both canvas and wooden panels. Rooted in a disciplined exploration of materiality and spiritual abstraction, her formal training includes The Art of Painting Beyond Technique and The Complete Guide to Acrylic Painting with Nancy Reyner of Santa Fe, New Mexico (2017–2020). Shah's method combines technical precision with introspective conceptualism, resulting in a visual language that merges geometric abstraction with symbolic, healing motifs.

Shah's artistic inquiry focuses on Kintsugi, healing, and Chakras, forming a cohesive thematic framework grounded in processes of restoration and transcendence. She is best known for her geometric abstract expressionism, characterized by rectangular and layered earth-toned fields, circular chakra-like structures, and sharp, golden angular lines that metaphorically secure fragmented forms. Through thick accretions of acrylic and subtly shifting chromatic gradients, she constructs two-dimensional works with a sculptural sensibility that dematerializes light while accentuating reflective gold-leaf elements inspired by the Japanese restoration technique of Kintsugi. This visual vocabulary underscores her central philosophical pursuit: the intuitive reconstruction of inner strength from fragmentation, and the natural emergence of healing beyond the conscious will. Her oeuvre questions the dependency on "advanced" medical interventions by framing healing as an evolutionary phenomenon embedded within the body's inherent processes.

Her works are included in notable collections such as The Fuji Collection (Hokkaido, Japan), the Pharmaceutical Heritage Foundation (Pennsylvania, USA), and numerous private collections worldwide. Shah has received multiple distinctions, including the Longlisted Visual Arts Association Artist of the Year Award(London, 2024), Finalist recognitions from Camelback Gallery and Grey Cube Gallery (2024), and the Bronze Award at Camelback Gallery (2023). Her significant ongoing project, Kintsugi Chakras, exemplifies her continued dedication to exploring resilience, restoration, and the metaphysical architecture of healing.
