Carola Kastman, born in 1968 in Borås, Sweden, is a contemporary artist based in Stockholm, Sweden. She specializes in mixed media on Japanese paper and linen. Kastman is best known for her intricate paintings, which comprise fifty layers with strokes that mirror the Scandinavian seasons. Her works are distinguished by a deep inclination towards imperfection and structures.
Kastman's art delves into abstract androgynous themes, capturing the essence of fluidity and ambiguity. Her subject matter is characterized by a harmonious blend of texture and depth, creating a visual dialogue that reflects her fascination with the interplay of order and chaos.
