Originally from Montreal, Louise moved to the UK after falling in love with a British sailor. She began her career writing short fiction, and in 2011 her short story, Black Rock, was published as part of an anthology, The Best Little Book Club in Town (Orion 2011), alongside writers such as Ruth Rendell, Jodi Picoult and Lee Child. In 2019 she won The Big Issue Crime Writing Competition and her psychological thrillers, The Lake, and My Husband's Secrets were published by Avon Books (Harper Collins). Her current novel, Vengeance Street, and the soon to be released Being Dead is Easy, are the first two in a series which delves into the world of the criminal justice system through the eyes of feisty Probation Officer Grace Midwinter. Louise has also recently be awarded an Arts Council of England grant to write her next book, Temple Rising, a literary fiction novel that explores violence and its far reaching impact. Alongside her writing Louise has also worked as an Employability and Careers Advisor in secondary, higher and adult education, and is currently the Careers Advisor at Arts University Plymouth. With a postgraduate qualification in Careers Information, Education and Guidance in Higher Education from the University of Warwick, Louise brings a person-centred, informed approach to her work, underpinned by research which has awarded her an Associate Fellowship with The Higher Education Academy.
